I’m Dave Sheldrake, a professional portrait photographer based in the western Algarve, Portugal.

I specialise in individual, couples, and family portraits, business headshots, model portfolios, and personal branding photography.

I love connecting with people and creating memories to last a lifetime with my camera.

My relaxed approach is designed to put clients at ease, helping them feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. The result is photography that feels personal and not contrived - and hopefully, we can have some fun along the way too.

I have a home studio, but I prefer to work in nature, on a deserted beach or in the local landscape. And I love sunsets!

Although I will quietly direct you towards the most flattering locations and light during your session, there will always be room for spontaneity and improvisation to allow time to capture those unexpected, genuine moments.

I’ll aim to provide a range of semi-formal and candid photographs: perfect for a family album or to display in your home. I pride myself on capturing natural, relaxed portraits that tell a visual story you will cherish.

Let's work together...

A standard portrait session lasts around two hours, which is perfect for up to four participants. I work across the western Algarve region and have several favourite beaches and locations I can recommend for your photoshoot.

The session fee is 175€ which includes a fully edited online gallery of up to 40 images for you to download and enjoy.
